How to take care of an acrylic bath?

Bathrooms are an essential attribute of every home. Nowadays, cast-iron bathtubs were replaced by new, beautifully designed acrylic bathtubs.

Tips for preserving the surface of the bath

Everyone knows that acrylic material is easily scratched and damaged by detergents. The most important rule for keeping an acrylic bathtub clean is regular care (preferably daily).

  • In order to retain its original appearance for a long time, apply a wax-based polish to it. The polish will add smoothness and dirt-repellent properties to the bath.
  • Wipe the tub daily with a soft cloth using a mild neutral detergent.

  • To clean acrylic bathtubs, it is forbidden to use:

  • washing powders containing fine abrasive substances,
  • chlorine,
  • acetone and other solvents, as they have a detrimental effect and destroy the structure of acrylic.

  • Methods for cleaning an acrylic bath

You can wash an acrylic bathroom using traditional products such as vinegar, citric acid, soda, or using various products bought in hardware stores. Rinse off the product from the acrylic bath with a soft sponge or cloth (to avoid scratches).

  • To wash the acrylic bath from limescale, you can use the usual 9% table vinegar. 1 liter of vinegar should be dissolved in warm water and left for 12 hours. Then drain the liquid and wipe the bath dry. Instead of vinegar, you can use citric acid.
  • With the help of soda, you can remove both lime and bleach the bath. For bleaching, a pack of soda should be dissolved in warm water and left for an hour. To remove lime, mix soda with a little water, soak for 30 minutes and rinse.
  • Yellow plaque can be washed off with hydrogen peroxide and vinegar (3:1 ratio). The liquid should be sprayed onto the surface and washed off after 15 minutes.
  • Mustard powder with soda is an excellent remedy for yellowness.
  • Rust from an acrylic bath can be removed with lemon juice (applied to the stain and washed off after 30 minutes), ammonia and hydrogen peroxide in equal proportions.
