Seven tips for your laminate flooring care

Seven tips for your laminate flooring care

In our modern world, laminate flooring is one of the most popular types of flooring, becoming a worthy alternative to natural flooring. The main advantages of the laminate flooring are:

    • Durability
    • Moisture resistance
    • Environmental Safety
    • Large range of colors

Proper care of laminate flooring involves cleaning it, after which there will be no streaks or stains on the floor.

So let's give you useful tips about a proper care of your laminate flooring.

    1. No polishing or abrasives are required to clean laminate flooring. Dry your laminate flooring regularly with a vacuum cleaner, broom or dry cloth. Try to carry out a full-fledged wet cleaning using a soft cloth (for example, microfiber) only once a week. Wet cleaning involves cleaning with a well wrung out damp cloth using special cleaning agents. Abrasive cleaners, which can damage the structure of the flooring, are categorically unsuitable for cleaning the laminate. Also, do not use oil-based formulations, as they form a film on the surface that attracts dirt. Soft brushes are ideal for cleaning laminate flooring.
    2. If you want to use the laminate for a long time, we recommend you to use the special felt pads and stands for furniture and vases. Scratches should be repaired in a timely manner to prevent further destruction of the laminate. In addition, the laminate flooring is often damaged by various shoes. We also advise you to lay a special rug in front of the door and change your shoes to house slippers before entering home and rooms with laminate flooring.
    3. To add shine to the laminate, you recommend you to use water mixed with distilled 3-9% white vinegar (1 tablespoon of vinegar to 1 liter of water). This is the easiest and most reliable method. In addition to the fact that such a mixture will help remove many types of dirt, it will not leave streaks and your laminate will sparkle clean.
    4. A single stationery eraser is enough for removing shoe marks, you can use regular baking soda as well. And the melanin sponge removes even the most stubborn stains from the laminate flooring.
    5. To get rid of scratches on the laminate, they must be sealed with repair wax. The wax needs to be passed several times over the scratch to make it disappear.
    6. You can remove household dirt on the laminate flooring with a solvent or ordinary acetone, stains from juice, wine, coffee are removed with a solution of neutral detergents. Grease from the laminate can be easily removed with dishwashing liquid, wax or adhering gum must first be frozen and then scraped off with a rubber scraper.
    7. The condition of the laminate is also influenced by the indoor climate. The air temperature in the room should be between 18-200C.

In conclusion, I would like to note that the main rule for the care of the laminate is to exclude excess moisture ingress during the washing process. Using the above methods, you will preserve the beauty and useful qualities of your laminate for a long time.
