How to take care of laminate?

How to take care of laminate?

Laminate is a beautiful and functional flooring that has long been considered an acceptable alternative to parquet. The longevity of laminate flooring is dependent on good care.

Laminate cleaning techniques

There are two methods for cleaning laminate flooring.

  • Dry. Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft nozzle or a soft mop for this purpose. The vacuum cleaner will swiftly collect all of the dust and grime without causing any damage to the laminate. If you do not want to use the vacuum cleaner, you can clear large amounts of dirt with a broom.
  • Wet cleaning (no more than twice a week); nevertheless, this cleaning must be done on at least class 23 laminate. When performing wet cleaning, keep the following in mind:
    1. Thoroughly wring out the cloth.
    2. Leave the windows open during wet cleaning to allow moisture to drain quickly.

  • The laminate is best cleaned using a mop fitted with a flat microfiber nozzle.

To remove stains from laminate flooring, use a neutral pH cleaner. Stains from markers can be erased by using a rubber eraser or toothpaste.

The most effective laminate cleaning tools

Laminate maintenance products are widely available in modern markets. When selecting a product, look for compositions that do not contain abrasives, acids, or solvents.

  • All-purpose liquid - Reinex Parkett & Laminat Pflege leaves no soapy residue and, most importantly, does not require rinsing. The substance forms an antistatic layer, which aids in the reduction of dirt.
  • The Dr. Schutz German tool will effortlessly remove dirt and grease from your floors.
  • We highly recommend Glutoclean for difficult stains since it successfully removes all types of stains.
  • Use 100 mL of table vinegar per 2 liters of water to make the laminate shine.

  • Preventive care for laminate flooring

Preventive steps should be taken to extend the life of the laminate.

  • Lay a rug in areas prone to heavy dirt (for example, next to a door) to prevent dirt from entering the apartment.
  • Furniture legs should be wrapped in a soft cloth.
  • Shoes should not be worn when walking on the laminate.
  • Metal brushes and abrasive substances should not be used to clean the laminate.
  • Spilled water should not be left on the laminate.
  • Avoid mechanical harm to the floor covering.
